Hello! I'm

Rhia Maîr Kaur

Welcome one and all to my little corner of the internet. I'm thrilled to have you here as I continue my mission to build a community for Mixed people. For the last year or so I have been sharing my lived expereince of growing up Mixed in the UK, being in a Mixed marriage and parenting our Mixed son. Having grown a modest and tight knit community I wanted to expand on the kinds of support I could bring people. Helping them to navigate the muddy waters of Mixed life and the frequent identity crises that can bring.

3 important factors

Why do we need community?

01 Validation

Validation

Finding someone in life who just "gets it" can lead you out of isolation. It is so powerful to confirm that your feelings are valid and that your lived experience is true.

02 Connection

Connection

Whether virtual or in real life, connecting with people who have shared similar experiences is vital to improve our self-esteem and strengthen our emotional health.

03 Support

Support

Communities find strenth when they come together. They provide empathy and emotional support which are essential in the path to autonomy over our identity.

That's exactly why I'm here. I just haven't seen enough representation of who and what I am and what has been my lived expereince. Seeing someone in a prominent position - an athelete, presenter or politician can be so unbelievably powerful and validating.
